Getting Here
Welcome to Victoria, BC’s beautiful Inner Harbour
The Victoria Dragon Boat Festival holds its programming each year in the gorgeous downtown core of Victoria, BC. One of the most reputed harbours in the world, the Inner Harbour, steps away from history streets and distinctive architecture, becomes the hub for Festivals, shows, music, ecotourism, travel, and boating activities during the warmer months of the year.
From Vancouver
Travel by BC Ferries from Vancouver. This 90-minute sailing takes you through beautiful West Coast scenery, as you navigate the Gulf Islands. On a good day, you may see pods of whales from the outside decks. Foot passengers can take the BC Transit buses on routes 70 and 72 right to downtown Victoria. You can also connect with the BC Ferries Connector bus, which drives right downtown to within blocks of the Festival. Tickets can be purchased on board the ferry.
From Seattle or Port Angeles
Coming by way of Seattle or Port Angeles? The Victoria Clipper and Coho ferries are a convenient way to quickly cross the border. Both the Clipper (running Seattle to Victoria) and the Coho (Port Angeles to Victoria) run multiple trips per day, and dock in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. You can actually see the Clipper and Coho ferries at the dock from the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival site.
Program your GPS for 900 Wharf Street, Victoria, BC V8W 3Z3.
The Festival is easily accessible by car, by public transportation, and by cycling.
If you have a vehicle, parking is available in the City of Victoria parkades. We recommend the Broughton Street Parkade, located below the Central Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library. From there, the Festival site is only three blocks west!
If you travel using one of BC Transit’s many routes serving the Festival area, detailed planning can be done via https://www.bctransit.com/victoria/home. Routes 70 and 72 take you directly from the BC Ferries terminal to the Inner Harbour – a one-hour, worry-free ride. DayPasses are $5.00, giving you unlimited transit access for the day of purchase.
Alternatively, take advantage of Victoria’s many cycling paths and designated bike tracks along main downtown roads!
Flying into Victoria from Vancouver? Try Harbour Air! Flights run regularly seven days a week and connect you from downtown Vancouver or the Vancouver Airport directly to downtown Victoria in around half an hour. Best of all – the Harbour Air terminal in Victoria is actually on the site at the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival! How’s that for door to door service?
Flying into the Victoria International Airport? The airport shuttle will take you directly from the airport to your downtown hotel. Local taxi company Yellow Cab also serves the airport.
